XRP now accepted on WooCommerce
For those of you that have been keeping up with Ripple XRP, you should know that not too long ago Ripple’s Xpring invested in Wietse Wind’s XRP Labs. More so, Ripple has been expanding their horizons from specifically financial institutions to projects like gaming and there newest member, WooCommerce for eCommerce platforms.
WooCommerce is a global company and was the first open source e-commerce plugin for small and medium-sized online stores. The platform is currently powering 3.3 million online users across the globe translating to 28 percent of all online stores. Integrating XRP currency- which is pretty fast by the way- can lead to secure and global settlements instantly.
This exposure of XRP to 3.3 million stores on WooCommerce can provide fast transactions with a minimal expense to online merchants. This may just be a ground breaking point for Ripples XRP now that there is more competition with bank settlements because of IBM’s World Wire (CAN WE LINK YESTERDAYS BLOG POST TO THIS?). This is massive for adoption, almost one third of all online marketplace sales are through WooCommerce’s platform. Just to give you a bit more insight on what’s to come, by 2021 WooCommerce has a projected global sales report of $4.88 trillion compared to $2.3 trillion in 2017.
RIpple has always made bold moves; this may just be their best one yet.
Happy Investing (and shopping)!
*editors note, we use a woocommerce backend for our shop and will be seriously considering adding XRP as a payment option in the very near future.
